Snowpack

We traveled from below treeline into alpine areas on easterly aspects. The snow is generally shallow and weak below treeline with very hard and shallow wind slabs above treeline. There is very little snow on easterly aspects in the Sawatch, but the depth and extent of the snowpack increases quickly on the west side of the Sawatch crest.
