Snowpack

We triggered numerous loose snow avalanches (facet sloughs) while skiing a NE aspect of Snodgrass. L-AS-R1-D1-O x3 -Three separate sloughs triggered from a thinly covered rock band at 10,600ft, in open terrain just below the ridgetop. 3m wide by about 30cm deep. They each ran about 100ft. The slope angle here was 40°. L-AS-R1-D1-O -This one occured lower on the slope at 10,430ft on a slight convexity. the slope angle was only 33°. 3m wide by about 30cm deep. It ran only 30ft. This was initiated by a light fall. The HS where these sloughs occured was 40-50cm. There was widespread SH development on the snow surface. The snowpack overall was very weak, lacking any slab layers. There was no cracking or wumphing observed.
