Snowpack
FCsf on the E and SE facing near tree line in the "Sam's Trees" area. Our team was trying to asses a perceived loose wet problem. We did find 5cm down from the surface a "free water" result from the days warming, but otherwise, dry snow down to the bottom of the snowpack. We did not find a loose wet issue in our area. On the "Mill Chutes" or "Chattanooga Chutes" area, we were investigating an perceived persistent slab problem. Mid way down the chute at approximately 10800 feet we did find a persistent slab structure. Our team believes there still exists, on North facing slopes, in certain high consequence terrain, a persistent slab issue that should still be taken into consideration when skiing in these types of areas.
