Snowpack
snowpack had seen several nights in a row with lows in the 20s. This made for a frozen snow surface. The freeze was approximately 15cm deep, below which was moist/wet snow to the ground. Surface near and BTL no longer supportable in many places by noon. Evidence of recent cornice collapses near Berthoud Pass. Caution is needed near or below any lingering cornices...some are still quite large.
