Mixed bag: broken to overcast, N'ish calm to moderate, brief period of S1. Standard May weather.
Snowpack
Height of snow remains above 2 meters near and above tree line. Boot penetration ranged from sole to knee deep, depending on depth of recent storm snow. The upper portion of the snowpack is a varied lattice structure, with porous cavities harboring facets. Recent storm instability was the avalanche problem today.
Avalanche
Three R1/D1 soft slabs were noted, on a variety of aspects. The most prominent Flea path went shortly after a skier descended the chute, with debris covering some of the tracks. Second, the NE shoulder of Lenawee Mountain sluffed as a group of 3 skied below. Then, during our egress we noticed Dog Leg had run naturally.
