Weather

Near Jones Pass. Mostly Sunny. Moderate wind WNW. 12,000'

Snowpack

Spx 18-30" near and above TL consisted mostly of storm snow from the base week. Depth Hoar present 0-6" in the areas probed with ski pole. Did not complete snow profile. Soft wind slabs evident in most areas affected by wind. Multiple collapses of snow occurred in areas with wind affected snow. Cracking was present but no major propagation notice.

Avalanche

Natural avalanche occurred on N aspect of peak 12109 near Krumholtz island at an elevation of 11800. My best estimate is that this occurred sometime early in the day on 11/16 as we didn't notice it on hour ascent to the saddle SE of peak 12109. Plus the debris wasn't covered with any new snow from the night before. (note - the ski track in the photo was from a skier that had just skied over the area of the avalanche after we had observed the avalanche debris. So it was not skier triggered. No attempt was made to make close observation of the avalanche as we didn't feel that would have been wise.)
