Skied Champion Bowl immediatey north of Red MOuntain Pass on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Ascended bowl (skied side with Northerly aspect), climbing from road below R.M. Pass, at 8:30 a.m. on hard frozen snow. Mid-mountain "corned up" at 10:00 a.m. at 11:00 a.m., the top was cold ad almost powdery. No apparent slides before 1:00 when we drove away, but many "whumps" as we skied out the flats on the valley floor. It all seemed very stable in the morning.
