Light rain or snow began at 5pm yesterday near Silverton and persisted with little accum. untill roughly midnight. Snow line was probably around 10,500' at first. We had a rowdy burst of snowfall between midnight and 3am. Snowfall has now decreased or stopped over the last hour in town and on the passes. Forecast shows decreasing snow this morning but moisture coupled with orographics could produce a few more inches today. Current in Silverton: Cloudy, calm, 31F, HN24 3.5"/.3 to 4.5"/.4 depending on where it's measured. Current on Passes: Snow decreasing. One Red Mtn Pass site shows about 9"/.5". Just north of RMP 5"/.6". Could not get a reading at Molas. Coal Bank roughly 6"/.3". Weather Stations: All switched to NW last few hours. Abram NNW/teens G25-30; Eagle NW/25-35 G50's; Kendall has no speed (likely frozen?); RH mid 90's (100% @ Monument (hwy level); Temps 19-21 (29F @ Monument).
