Weather
Sky's were mostly clear with strong solar radiation. Winds were light out of the SW, but seemed to be increasing once out of the field.
Snowpack
The snowpack on S-SE aspects below treeline varied in depth for 20-60cms and should a great deal of spatial variability. In most areas the pack was very thin, with little structure. I was able to feel a slight density changes in the decomposing snow when digging with a gloved hand. The basal and mid-pack weak layers, we have been forecasting for, were present in open slopes and terrain features that are more exposed to the elements.
Avalanche
Avalanche Danger was Low below treeline. This was due to lack of snow and structure of the snow pack. We can expect to the danger rating rise as the next storm approaches. I did see a point release, D1 Wet loose, above treeline on a south aspect that looked as if it was triggered by rolling snow off a rock feature.
