Snowpack
Afternoon tour out Washington Gulch under partly cloudy sky’s. Light westerly winds on tour with blowing snow off the higher peaks such a Baldy. Snow surfaces were amazingly nice after such a strong wind event. Yesterdays dust event was buried by about 15cm of snow at 11,000ft on an east aspect. Last weeks storm snow was the most problematic layer sitting on an old melt freeze crust and producing sudden collapse results in compression tests. This interface produced 3 inconsistent results in ECT tests, some showing propagation likely and some not. No other signs of instability noticed on slopes traveled.
