Avalanche

At approximately 1445 hours, the snow load on top of a metal roof at a Dillon Gas Station slide off and on to a 65 year old woman who was standing below the edge. The estimated two foot roof slab landed on the legs of the victim. The victim was not fully buried and 911 was called immediately. Summit County Ambulance Service (SCAS) and Lake Dillon Fire Rescue responded immediately and were on scene quickly as the gas station was across the street from their station. The victim was removed from the debris and assessed. She complained of hip and ankle pain. She was treated with pain management, splinted and transported by SCAS to Summit Medical Center in Frisco for further treatment.
