Whompfing observed and releases on S facing open slopes below Mt Uneva. S facing. 10600-12400 elevation.l
Avalanche
One skier was buried entirely except the face while skinning under a convex slope around 35 degrees. Near tree line. S aspect. Elevation 11200.crown 2- 4 feet in depth. Propagated some 70 feet and ran 100-150 vertical feet. Two other skiers were positioned in safety zones on each flank of the slope. They quickly extricated the buried skier. Avalanche ran on faced. Persistent slab type avalanche.
