clear and warm in the Deer Creek drainage on north slopes around 10,000 ft
Avalanche
Observed at least a half dozen avalanches that ran on Tuesday March 3 that were very similar in characteristic to the other slides observed on Coal Bank Pass on North slopes around 10,000 ft. They had Crowns of 3-4 ft and pulled away from steep head walls and ran to the next bench, anywhere from 100-300 ft. They mostly existed near the creek bottom and on the traverse out to the switch back on the highway. They slid on the drought layer of snow so all of the new storm from the past 2 weeks slid. There were also countless areas that had fractured on Tuesday but didn't run. No signs of current instability.
