Snowpack
Supportable melt freeze crusts on snow surfaces where slopes face the sun. Snowpack depths below treeline on these southerly facing slopes held little to no snow (<1'). North facing slopes were faceted and measured 1 to 1.5 feet deep. On these northerly slopes, basal-depth hoar measured less than 3 inches, and was continuous throughout the test area between 10,800' and 9000'.
