Weather

Few to some scattered clouds. Light WNW winds, mostly at ridgelines or down at valley floor. The morning's single digit temps rose quickly, though I could see the breath from people on the ridge midday. Radiation heating from solar made it feel warmer than it was.

Snowpack

New and recent storm snow sitting on slick crusts. Radiation rapidly warming storm snow on exposed slopes. Touchiest snow was on E-facing slopes; slides entrained new snow + snow from last few dustings to create sometimes dangerous amounts of debris. Near treeline elevation band developed the deeper and more dangerous avalanches.

Avalanche

No natural activity before 1 pm.
