Deep Persistent Slab, Mt Fidelity

Steep south-facing slopes in the alpine are heating up. Several slabs were observed to have failed on the March 11 crust/surface hoar combo. The real interesting observation was seeing a failure to the ground on steep (50*+) southerly terrain. The heat that is getting absorbed by the winter snowpack is helping destabilize the entire depth of snow. Heads up on those warm, solar aspects when they're getting direct sun!!
