Bulletproof cardiac

Today we skied the Cardiac couloir. There was a limited refreeze overnight from yesterdays warm temps, on solar aspects the snow was moist by 11:00 am at 1600 m. A cold breeze from the south west was keeping things cool in the alpine but solar aspects were still catching a lot of sun. We made sure we were well away from any solar aspects that had been baking in the sun all morning. In the alpine there was extensive old wind effect but low ski penetration made for fast travel. North facing slops are still holding cold snow although ski conditions are variable. We observed no new avalanches.
