Looking for the Lee

We sledded to the meadows north of Log Cabin and skinned up thru mellow treed terrain to the alpine. South winds were strong (check out our video on instagram to see just how windy!) It was snowing lightly and blowing hard in the alpine. We were seeking terrain in the lee to find shelter but there were few places to escape the blizzard. Snow in this zone is wind-affected, with 5cm styrofoam snow on top of a breakable crust from the last warm spell. It was warm again today with valleybottom temps near zero in the afternoon.
