Good skiing at top of tree line. Snow conditions become variable as you move below tree line. Burn line/hike in/ski out needs more snow, lots of exposed bushes and new young growth.

Completed one test pit with 2 ECT tests. ECT 1: 30cm x 90cm column. Failure at new snow interface (50cm) at tap 4 (from hand). No propagation. Test till failure at facet/rain crust (35cm), sudden failure at tap 14 (4 from elbow). ECT 2: 30cm x 60cm column. Sudden failure at facet/rain crust (35cm) at tap 2 (from hand). See photos. Based on results, avoided open areas.
