After a couple days skiing Balu and Asulkan we decided to go for an adventure/scout in the Hermit area. Unsurprisingly its still very thin down low but travel was doable on the hiking trail. Found a thin sun crust in open areas on solar slopes. We found some ok turns higher up on a slightly more polar aspect. Slide paths are full of alder, open creeks etc. Was cloudy and snowing S-1 all day with 4cm by 1pm. Access to the alpine is reasonable but skiing at lower elevations isn't "in" just yet. Need more snow!
