Test pit at 2400m S asp 30deg showed no significant results. We found surface hoar in sheltered areas, sun crust on steep solar and wind effect in the alpine with previous reverse loading from N winds. The snow depth at 2400 was around 80cm starting with soft fist density snow on top of a snowpack increasing to 1 finger density at the base. We suspected that the early season snowfalls from Sept and Oct had melted out on these elevations and aspect and this is why we did not find the deep low density facet layer and crust we have seen on N aspects. We kept it mellow with our skier remote avalanche from earlier in the week fresh in the mind. No new avalanches observations.
