Dug a pit at 2379m. East facing just above Tree line. Snow pack 120cm. Ski penetration 20 cm; boot 50 cm. 30 deg slope. Resistant planar at CTM 19 , 40 cm on crust layer. Fist to 25cm, 1 finger down another 15, 4 finger down another 10. 2nd crust 5cm thick at 85 cm. We observed suffing on a shorter 40 degree slope in the shade (picture). We observed a size 1 loose snow avalanche on the south aspect of Observation peak.
