Suspicious surface hoar

While out with AST students, we found a very obvious and suspicious SH layer (5-10mm) down 40-50cm with recent storm snow on top. HS 180cm on a shady BTL, SE aspect in sheltered woods. Got a sudden planar result, CTM11, on a 24 deg. slope. Had no intentions of skiing in the area but it certainly was a good learning opportunity worth sharing. Remember, Low hazard doesn't mean No hazard, keep looking for localized problem layers when you're out there!
