Weather
The day felt both cold and warm- must be spring! While temperatures remained cool, the sun was quite strong, making it feel warmer than it was.
Snowpack
New snow from the last storm continues to settle. The sun is stronger each day and has created melt/freeze crust on sunny slopes at all elevations. This will be our next layer to watch with subsequent snowfall. Northerly winds continued to move snow to southerly slopes, though loading was minimal with little snow available to move. The alpine is a mixed bag of hard to punchy wind slab, with few areas with drummy/hollow slabs. We did not experience any signs of instability.
Avalanche
A couple D1 wet loose slides from ran today from steep, rocky, sunny slopes both above and below treeline.
