A north west facing sidewall was impacted by either a cornice or rockfall which triggered a small slab that funneled into the Polar Circus gully below the Pencil feature. Two climbers were descending (walking down gully between pitches) and were caught and carried down slope by the slide. Climbers were not buried but sustained injuries that required them to be rescued.
