Weather

Snow continued to fall, but only an inch of additional accumulation observed on Red Mountain Pass. Winds howled in the alpine and it was cold.

Snowpack

Over a foot of dense snow fell in the Red Mountain Pass area since the start of the storm Saturday. Strong southwest winds accompanied the storm loading leeward slopes and stripping windward slopes. The deepest pockets of snow observed in low angle gully features in the alpine. Exposed alpine slopes were back to scree and small cornices forming. The hight of snow ranged from 0 to over 100 cm's. I triggered multiple rumbling collapses on a northerly slope near treeline were old snow persisted above the ground. That same slopes produced easy propagating failures in snowpack tests. Riding conditions in general were variable.

Avalanche

No avalanche activity observed.
