Location: Dry Gulch parking lot Elevation: 10,700ft at 8am it was clear skies and 7F. Virtually no wind. It got considerably warmer throughout the day but we didn't measure how warm.
Snowpack
On the SE aspect we noticed some surface hoar below and near treeline. It was enough to make out skin up a little more challenging in some spots. We didn't see any surface hoar above 12,000ft elevation. We noticed a 1F hard wind slap around 12,000ft elevation right on the ridge line around the SE face. It varied between 3-6cm thick in the area that we noticed it. The snow coverage in the area was pretty variable. When we skied the 12477 summit to the saddle (ESE facing terrain) the snow was hard packed wind slab snow. Once we got in the drainage on the NE face the snow was deep and unconsolidated.
