I spent the day in the sunshine looking down on the clouds below. Occasional moderate westerly gust and plenty of snow blowing at ridgeline
Snowpack
The snowpack is generally weak and thin and resembles the snowpack in November for the rest of the Front Range. Below treeline the snowpack was about 30cm thick with a fist slab of facets over a layer of fist hard depth hoar. Above treeline the snow was about 50 to 75cm deep in the more consistent snow areas. With a weak layer of depth hoar at the ground that was allowing for propagation in extended column tests.
