Weather

Temp was in the 20s, calm to light winds. Snow was heavy at times. Broken skies most of the day.

Snowpack

Rabbit ears pass got 10” overnight of very low density snow. That make almost 18” in 72 hours. The facet layer below the slab layer was harder to initiate today, not sure if that is reality or a fluke yet. The new 18” is not bonding to the old snow, I got shear results there and saw a small D1 slide off a steep embankment in the storm snow.

Avalanche

Saw one small D1 off a road embankment. 12-18” deep, 40’ wide and 50’ long.
