Mid teens, real windy out of the west, easing a bit in the afternoon

40†deep soft on top four finger to 1 finger mid pack and very large facets on the bottom
Avalanche
Natural, appear to be a couple days old. Look like the cornice on the ridge collapsed triggering a 600’ wide 1-4’ crown running 500’ vertical. Likely ran on the junk from October. Good reminder those old go to lines are not what what you have ridden in the past. None of the usual suspects on those east faces have gone and the snowpack remains shallow. Toured lower in the canyon on a similar aspect and elevation on a popular route. One member of the party commented how the snow felt supportive. Watch out for the junk in the basement and #skifortomorrow
