Weather
Clear and pretty cool out. Winds were moving a little snow around at ridge level. We stayed well below that elevation.
Snowpack
The snowpack is still very sensitive out there on aspects on the north half of the compass. In our travels today I experienced numerous rolling collapses and cracking, one of which initiated a D2 avalanche remotely. The southern half of the compass only has 20-25cm on a crust. Not enough volume to cause problems now but will bear watching when we receive our next storm.
Avalanche
Approaching slope and caused a large collapse which propagated over a roll and initiated an avalanche. I was probably 30-40 feet away from roll.
