Weather

Spent most of day around 10,000ft, toured on south to east aspects. Winds were variable, from calm to high winds, swirling from different directions, but mostly from SW. Temps were higher than anticipated, snow at 10,000' on south facing was wet at surface early afternoon, turned to breakable crust by 4pm.

Snowpack

Test pit for AIARE 1 class, 10,200', NE facing, HS 100cm. Found 15cm of new snow at surface, easily popped on "burp the baby" tests, but no propagation in tests. Mid-pack was 1-finger to 4-finger slab, bonded to each other. Basal facets from ground to 45cm, observed initiation and propagation at this layer.
