Avalanche

Skiing Hunter this morning, we dropped in off the summit at 10am, I did a single ski cut and triggered a 5" crown of warming* new snow on top of consolidated snowpack. We were hoping to drop at 9:30 or earlier, but it was slow going to gain the summit. The snow was perfect snow ball snow, maybe slightly on the wet side, but not dripping in your hand if you made a snowball. The first ski cut slide slid for 1500'. The next skier was in a different drop position and he triggered two very similar slides. Properly east facing, still triggered another 7 slides on northeast aspects but once we got over into the north aspect, the snow was much nicer and no wet slide behavior.
