Weather
Protected and calm below TL, low 20s, above TL ~15-20mph winds from SW, wind chill in the low 10s or single digits. Also very sunny.
Snowpack
Of course loads of new snow, breaking trail 40-60cm deep on the uptrack. New snow felt right-side up cake density with pole probing and hand pits, with the top ~20cm being very light stellar flakes. On SW aspects, the sun was starting to turn the snow mashed potato-y with small roller balls on steeper slopes near rock and off ski turns. We observed no cracking or collapsing on the tour, and didn't dig either, but e stomped on a small test slope (~36 degrees, edge of a gully) with no feedback. The skiing was superb.
Avalanche
No observed avalanches.
