Weather
BKN skies with strong and gusty NW winds at ridgetop. Winds were a little more pleasant off the ridge. Hn 3"/0.2" on both LP highway study plot stakes. Temps were a few degrees below freezing.
Snowpack
The snowpack has been pretty beat up by the wind near and above treeline on Loveland Pass. Where I dug on a southeast-facing slope above treeline, I found little concerning in the way of basal weakness. There is a weak interface about 20-25cm below the surface that produced repeatable ECTP results. On my way back to the truck, I traveled on some north-facing terrain and experienced some minor, localized collapsing.
