A great group of high school AST 1er's explored the Chuck Creek/Nadahini area today for their field day. Pretty much a perfect day in Haines Summit at -10C, bluebird and just a hint of west wind. The cool temps and light wind seemed to moderate surface temps on the south and no indication of solar influence was observed. A lot of areas are wind affected up there but we found nice cruisey powder on sheltered north features. Test profiles at 1050m on a north aspect revealed 180cm of snow and no results of note in compression tests. Parking is limited in many of the usual areas but traffic is minimal.
