Number of observations, broken down by Aspect: South East: 1400m, Compression test, easy, sudden planar, on a solar crust (1cm) @ 25cm - no propagation with ski cuts.....1500m, compression test, moderate, sudden planar, solar crust (0.5cm) @25cm - no propagation with ski cuts North: 1550m - no results extended column (ECT), no surface hoar found.......1450m - no results on ECT, no surface hoard found.......1300m - Compression test hard, sudden planar @ 60cm (degrading surface hoar and rounds). When block failed, the March 1st, surface hoar layer (down 30) broke off the column......1200: skier triggered avalanche on surafce hoar, 45cm down. North West: 1450m (alpine slope) - no results on ECT. small crack observed at the storm snow interface down 40cm)......1300m open meadow: hasty pit did not show march 1st surface hoar.

Cornice failure likely on Friday night during cold weather caused storm slab release. Also observed number of slab avalanches on SE aspects of Ashamn peak. looked like cross loading triggering a solar crust, or similar weak layer. Observed some new dry loose point release on extremely steep SW terrain occurring on Saturday in the later afternoon, below trees.
