An exploratory day in the Mt Fernie range with the intentions of scoping out bigger terrain for later in the season. Still to early to be up there, we skinned up through the steep trees before the usual gully up tracks, which was okay but it was alder hell trying to get back out at the end of the day. Give it a month or so.

Cold, broken clouds and very windy up in the alpine but a beautiful clear day.

Both our tests today we very resistant. CTM12 down 50 R PC ECTX aka no result Snow pack was very compact and well bonded. 2021-12-04 MFcr was 100 down and was 50cms thick. Snow pack above seems to be bonded very well. We noticed some surface hoar forming in the valley bottom and BTL however anything above TL was being blasted by the wind.
