Started at 10:30 Blue sky and warm down low. Turned to overcast and mild wind cooling off a fair bit. On our way out it was snowing significantly around 5:30.

Test Failure Layer Crystal Types

ECTP 19. Failure on the crust was very clean. We assumed it was the same layer as the buried surface hoar from Feb 22 but did not find any SH on the failure surface. Less 1000m snow was very warm and wet. Lots of roller balls in the steeper terrain. 1000-1500m snow was dense and surfy to ski. 1500+ snow was good skiing but Feb 22 layer was pretty reactive. Easily triggered on a pillow with blocks sliding off even in the trees. We skied less 30 degree slopes and stayed out from under anything steep as well.
