Skied around here Wednesday/Thursday & wanted to post as Haines Pass - outside the forecast zone- has been getting much more recreational traffic (all Canadian) than the MIN suggests. Plenty of sledders and skiers camped out at the summit all week. High winds at the summit Wednesday but at lower elevations and back from the highway there is lots of good riding and powder conditions. Solar effect is visible with crusts forming and multiple small releases on southerly aspects. Cornices are beginning to drop chunks at lower elevations and at least one natural size 2 was seen due to cornice fall. Saw a moose.
