Weather

An absolutely beautiful day with calm winds. Temperatures were well above freezing.

Snowpack

Above treeline on a north aspect at 11200ft we found 4m of mostly pencil hard and firmer snow (probed). The surface of the snow was firm windblown snow with a pencil hard layer below. This layer had easy compression tests on a layer of decomposing snow and graupel below. No propagation on ECT results. On south facing slopes there was no windslab and the new snow was heavy in any areas it had drifted. The dust had created streaks on the surface of the snow distributed on south aspects.
