Snowpack

Looked in the snow on the east aspect right at Treeline. Found a snow depth of about 60cm. The top layer had formed a 15cm thick pencil hard wind slab on top of 8-10cm of fist hard unconsolidated snow. That was sitting on 32cms of a 1 finger dense snowpack, with the bottom 3-5cm of snow turning to sugar with fist hard density. The wind slab (top 15 cm) was very sensitive, it popped with some authority while I was trying to isolate the column for a test. I repeated these results with slightly less authority on the pop but still broke while isolating the column.
