Avalanche

Saw lots of destruction from this winter's avalanches. Due east of elk mountain, avalanche debris cleared the deep gully and took out a large section of aspen forest. Along the summer trail where it breaks out into a large meadow with stands of aspen on the bench, almost all the aspen stands on that bench were wiped out. The main drainage of carbonate creek also showed large amounts of destruction although I never went down there to check it out up close. Basically, all run outs below Elk mountain and along elk mountain ridge have been greatly extended.
