Snowpack

Supportable even in below treeline terrain less than 10k feet. Snowpack depths vary with the thinnest snowpack depths at about 150 cm. I dug on a north aspect at about 10,800 feet in an opening in the trees. The north-facing snowpack below treeline consisted of dry snow layers with no signs of any moist snow in the pack. I found a strong snowpack with good strength to basal weak layers. Small areas of wind slab near ridgetop in easterly-facing terrain.
