This morning winds were erratic with calm periods and then gusts over 30 mph. As the day progressed sustained wind speeds increased as well. Overcast skies first thing this morning decreasing to scattered clouds by afternoon.

Snowpack

The snow surface was frozen this morning at all elevations. Above about 11,000 feet the wind kept the snow surface cool even after noon. Snow surface conditions were wintry near to above treeline. As the day warmed the snowpack below treeline became unsupportable.
