Light WNW winds BTL and flagging observed on peaks surrounding the pass. FEW clouds.
Snowpack
On southwest slopes, about 20cm of new snow from the last 36 hours sits above a series of melt-freeze crusts and 2mm facets at the ground. These crusts have been cooked by the sun and recent warm temps and formed about 20 cm of a largely pencil-hard layer. CT and ECT tests concluded with broken results and no propagation within the storm snow and at the interface with the old surface. Northwest slopes have about 25 cm of new snow from the last 36 hours sitting above a layer of buried near-surface facets above a 4F slab with 3mm F facets at the ground. I dug in an area deeper than most observed BTL north aspects where the height of snow was about 95cm. CT and ECT tests displayed broken results with no propagation within the storm snow and at the old surface interface (buried near surface facets). No ECT results were observed at the ground on either aspect.
