Weather

A cool morning with 5F degrees. Calm winds from the northwest with no snow transport. 10cm new snow overnight.

Snowpack

On an east aspect below treeline I observed 10cm of new snow. The snowpack measured 100cm with most of the grains being facets and depth hoar. The overall snowpack was right-side-up and lacked any crusts or slabs. The structureless nature of this snow allows for significant boot penetration. Loose avalanches and striking under-snow objects would be my primary concerns skiing in this location.
