Weather
Spring weather on E/NE aspects above tree line (11,700") Light winds out of the west. Beautiful blue bird day.
Snowpack
Thin sun crust sitting on top of soft snow on E aspects below tree line. Near and above tree line surface snow was warm but still soft. Did not dig into snow or perform any stability tests.
Avalanche
D 1.5 on SE aspect above tree line on Mt. Russell. Pictures are not great, but saw what looked to be a ski cut, and then tracks on the looker's right of the slide. Appears to have failed above the skier. Debris pile was not huge but could have been a nasty ride through rocks.
