North Ridge of North Victoria

Climbed the North Ridge of North Victoria today. Snow travel was firm, a cool cloudy day kept everything frozen in place, and the rock was snow free where needed.

The Victoria Glacier was easily navigated and while crevasses are slowly opening up, the main access routes are still in good shape.

The bergschrund is mostly open but was not too difficult to cross and also provides an option for skirting it on the right with a careful traverse.

The Victoria-Collier Col still has large cornices present, but has options to minimize exposure on the right and reach the col mainly on snow if things are well frozen.

Felt a bit wintery up high today and puffy jackets were nice to have, but overall good conditions for mid August.
