Weather
Day started warm and clear with a brisk, cool westerly breeze above 13,000 feet. Clouds started to build by 10am.
Snowpack
Surface crust is around 15cm thick at 12,800 feet. The crust is slightly thicker above this elevation and slightly thinner below this elevation. Below the surface crust is moist snow with a wetted weak layer sitting above a lower, stouter crust down around 40cm. This is responsible for the observed collapses and keep wet slabs concerns on the radar. The dust layer is mostly not visible except in burned out areas near rocks and on some lower elevation flatter slopes. Near treeline and in the alpine the dust layer is down around 80cm.
